Is the traditional British tea set relevant for the true British tea ritual?

The traditional British tea ritual is known around the world. It's a tradition of tea rooms, cups, saucers, loose-leaf tea and doilies. But does this tradition accurately reflect the way British people drink tea today? Is this important part of Britian being misrepresented?

In this conceptual project I investigated how tea is drunk today. I looked at what had become of the traditional ritual and tried to define what is is to be British.

The final design reflects the way the British come together to share a cup of tea. They become a group, passionate about the ritual, but with the reserve and politeness that defines the British nation
